Hi to all the people in the forum, my first thread here.

I just bought a new Korg Nautilus last december. Everything was great....until a couple of days ago. I recorded a few songs (up to number 24). When the problem started, I first got asked whether I want to save or discard some audio files in the Temp folder. Initially I went for save (Second time I discarder, but got the same effect), then when I opened the song menu in the sequencer mode, everything went freeze, and the only way out was to force shutdown. All other modes work fine, it seems to be related to sequencer.

I tried the following:
-work on preloaded songs: they all work fine.
-let the frozen menu for a couple of hours, nothing changed. NOTE: keys don't sound.
-reloaded all songs in the same positions. I could open some of my songs but when I try to switch to another one, it goes freeze. NOTE: in the Media mode I can only see audio and track folders up to song 18, the remaining ones are still in the song menu but I have no idea on where their data is stored.
-initialize the song. The window opens, but when I go "OK", it starts idling forever....freeze and forced. NOTE: keys do sound.
-save the songs (both internal drive and USB drive). The window opens, but when I go "OK", it starts idling forever....freeze and forced. NOTE: keys do sound.
-overwrite some audio tracks. One weird thing I've noticed while try recording, the bars counter was stuck, only the bar movements was cycling. Anyway, it didn't work either.

Blame on me that I didn't save the songs one by one. Anyway, this is not a tragedy, I could try to restore factory settings and restart working on those songs, but before doing that if someone has any idea on how to fix this, or at least save my work, is more than welcome. Most of all, I hope this is not related to something worse with the OS.

My set up is:
Phones: headphones
Output LH/RH: small speaker set with sub, RCA inlet.
Output 1-4: empty
Line 1: jack (Mic)
Line 2: jack (Guitar)
Pedal: empty
Switch: standard switch pedal
Damper: Quiklok damper pedal
MIDI thru: empty
MIDI out: empty
MIDI in: Korg i3 AT (1993) (Problem stays whether is on or off)

Thanks in advance!
Paul

As long as I see from the manual, the Nautilus has only internal drive and USB ports (The latter I tried with a formatted pen drive, but the internal drive fails as well). I'm not sure what card you are writing of.

Seek out warranty repair.
Just wrote to the local Korg distributor, thanks. Hope they'll fix it, but in the meantime if someone else has some other suggestions, they're more than welcome. I had it for just 3 weeks, and it's frustrating for a 2350 € purchase

HappyRat Gary isn't wrong; almost every warranty issue we've had with Korgs involved a bad SD or micro sd card; inside almost every Korg I've seen has one (Kronos & Krome most certainly do, as I've had Korg replace them on both models for warranty issues). And your issue sounds like a corrupted micro sd.

I couldn't find the one for the Nautilus, but here's what it looks like on the Korg PA series.

Open your manual and see if it mentions where the micro sd is?

Hi Mark. Thanks for your reply. There's no indication in the manual about SD cards. However, after the last attempt to reload the songs from drive to the same position, I fixed the problem. The thing I've noticed, most of the songs are still there with all the data, but a few of them (those that I could see in the dropdown menu in the Sequencer mode, but couldn't see in the directory of the Media mode) have gone, they are all at initialized status. I don't think it was a problem of size, as most of the songs are one minute bits, particularily those that have gone. I don't see a proper fix in this, I'll have to live with this sword of Damocles....

Hi all. Yesterday I had the problem again, but this time in Program Mode. The green vertical bar next to the program name box was flashing, the keys sound, the damper pedal worked, but nothing else reacted (No touch screen selection, no switches, no toggles), I had to force shutdown. Could this symptom still be related to memory units or something else? Maybe I was influenced by the situation, but I could even smell something overheated.

well, our base source in the nightime is mainly gas, oil and coal generation, and distribution is managed by the sixth largest power transmission grid operator in the world, so apart from sporadic episodes which might occur like in any other western countries, I would say it's pretty stable. I would rule out anything related to power supply....
