I finally broke down and bought the keyboard I've been coveting for quite sometime.

Yesterday, I brought home my new Minimoog Voyager Electric Blue and I'm totally geeked about it. It's been over 20 years since my original Model D went away, and it's nice to have that functionality back in my rig.

Between my Minimoog, Virus Ti, Korg MS10 and Motif ES, I think all the major synth bases are now covered!!!

I'll likely be putting it through its paces this week in the studio, so we'll see what shakes out.

Peace.

Wow, that is killer! Does it have the same kind of warmth as the old MOdel D?

Some say yes. some say no.

Some purists are just "nostalgic" about the Model D and don't mind unstable oscillators, hour long warm up time, key noise and other "quirks" from using a 35 year old synth.

As a former Model D guy, I'd take the Voyager over it any day, for the midi and preset functions alone. No more 5 minute knob twiddling to get a different patch live between songs.

As for as warmth, its all Moog, all Analog with some improved technology.

I fall into the yes, camp!!!

Your mileage may vary.
