Newbie question re. sequencing on FA

Hello All

I am seeking some guidance and advice:

Just got my FA-08 and when I sequence (hit the "write" button) to save a song when I go back into the song the song is saved but all the instruments/programs I chose are not saved and replaced with other sounds. Came someone advise what I am doing wrong?

Also, just got a clean new laptop and programmed Cubase. This will be my first time using DAW. Any advice/suggestions is welcome as I will be teaching myself how to do it.
