Nice little workhorse

My needs are so simple but the right keyboard is being elusive!

All I need is a MIDI controller keyboard, sturdy body, 61 keys would be ideal but 49 will do at a pinch, USB and MIDI out (obviously...jeez, some of these new controllers ) that takes an external power supply - because believe it or not M-Audio and Alesis and Behringer, sometimes I want trigger my modules and I'm nowhere near a computer (gasp!)

Can someone help me?

No specific controllers in mind but here's an AC Adapter to USB Power Supply that eliminates your need for an extra power cable when you're not hooked up to your computer.

That should broaden your choices a bit

One line of controllers that comes to mind btw is the Akai line. This model seems to meet your specs.
