Hey, I need some help. I have a Roland Prelude it has been many moons since I have played and I want to get back. I opened it up and found a random power cord and it turned on. But there is no audio coming out of the speakers or out of the headphone jack. I was wondering if there is a cord I'm missing or if is it broken. If it is the cords where can I find all the cords I need to run the keyboard? But if it is the speakers, can I replace them? if so where do I go about finding the speakers for it?

Sorry, I know that's a lot but I do really need help.

THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!

Probably more than it's worth.

Google music keyboard repair shops in your area and start putting out feelers. This is really specialized work and only a select few would even attempt it.

I would check first if there is audio from the line outputs. Is there audio from the line outputs?
Connect jacks from line out going to an external amplifier.

no what is that
Usually you press a key or a combination of keys and it plays you a demo of the keyboard. See the Owner's Manual.

And remember the Prelude is an arranger keyboard not a digital piano. The latter isn't an arranger, it will not accompany you like playing with a band.

Also try to reset the keyboard:

Press MENU. Use the ^/v buttons to select “Utility” then press ENTER. Use the Cursor
buttons to select “Factory Reset” then press ENTER.

You can't just hook up 'speakers' unless they are powered or are connected via an amplifier.

This Troubleshooting page from the User Manual offers a couple of suggestions. If you don't already have a copy, you can get it for free here https://www.manualslib.com/products/Roland-Prelude-2011322.html.

As well as the possiblility of some or all of the caps (capacitors) needing to be replaced, another possibility is that one of the voltage regulators has gone bad. These are cheap and once identified as faulty do not take long to replace but it requires some troubleshooting and soldering experience, which you may or not have.

Although it is reasonably old keyboard, it is also not a beginner's instrument and I certainly wouldn't give up on it just yet, without investigating further.

Good luck.
