I fired up my old Roland U20 for the first time in about 20 years. Works OK but produces an odd hitch in the tone, as if the note is being repeated or interrupted on an irregular basis.

When I started it up, I got an "Internal Battery Low" message. Thinking this might have something to do with it, I replaced the battery. Still getting the same glitch. I ran the battery check and it read 5.0V. (The battery tested at 3.2V before I installed it.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I moved the C2/VALUE slider to maximum and the problem disappeared. ???

Where did you find out how to replace the battery, please? I opened mine up and don't see the battery anywhere. I searched it on you tube and got nothing, except someone told me Roland viewed the battery replacement as an authorized service tech job only and therefore didn't publish instructions. Oh, and they warned that elapsed time between removing dead battery and installing new one must be < 5 seconds!
I miss my synth so much, thanks in advance for your help!
