I wish the Korg had the menu structure from Yamaha , there is so much you cant save on a PA5x
It is a terrible system compared to Yamaha , only i keep it is the nice overall sound who blends perfect with the Genos 2
If i get the same sound ( and i come close) out of the G2 i will sell it immediatly .
( i dont count anymore on the 1.4 update , its a hoax i think to sell more units )
Yeah well, I am diametrically opposed to your view.

Every Yamaha other than a basic DP that I have used has had the OS from hell and a Manual that is beyond belief.

Korg Manuals are long and detailed and info can be difficult to find, whereas Yamaha, is just dire. A Korg manual is War and Peace, Yamaha is a Marvel Comic.

Genos or 5X, no contest, 5X is not streets ahead it is in a totally different Country.

Those of us with a Korg arranger can save things very easy and quickly, can organise each song in the repertoire very quickly, its call up is very fast and we can have way more available sound combinations available.

Final nails in the Genos coffin, the 5x has better sounds, better keybed (by a mile) and it costs £700 less.

LOL! I actually really like that description of the manuals; I may have to borrow that!

Costs £700 less??? Wow, I guess it's really different depending where you are. Genos*2* is identically priced in Canada (both are $6999) and Genos 1 is significantly less... and in Europe, PA5x has 5 year warranty? In North America, it's only 1!
(Yamaha Genos/Genos2 are 2 year in Canada, 1 year in USA)

Hi Mark

Prices in the UK are good for both keyboards atm.
The Genos 2 and the Korg Pa5x both retailing for around £3000 uk and some Genos 2 keyboards with sound systems included for around £3600/ £3700.
This is across the whole 71/ 78/ and 88 key variations.

Interestingly. I advised that when I bought my Pa5x I registered it with Korg within 6 months to take advantage of a further 3 years warranty giving me 5 years warranty in all.

I now see that Genos 2 from certain retailers in the UK are offering a similar 5 year warranty for the Genos 2.
See pic.

Maybe you need to talk to Yamaha Canada, to get better warranty terms from them? It does seem a bit unfair.

Keep well
Keith

My Pa5X 76 cost me less than £2900.

That is $3930 US or $5400 CN.

Currently a 76 is $4900 at Sweetwater.

Great to see the US users ripped off for a change.

Agree with pretty much everything you say here. Another very substantial benefit is that the PA5X effectively has workstation capability in addition to being an arranger - namely a lot of power and flexibility to create and adjust sounds along with very flexible MIDI controller functionality. Yes, it does take time perusing the user manual/s to learn the intricacies, but it pays off. Possibly the biggest issue I have with it (besides how long it's taking for certain originally touted features to be released) is that I find the action on the 76 key semi-weighted keyboard to be quite a bit stiffer than pretty much any other semi-weighted keyboard I've used. Some might view that as a good thing, but It has taken time for me to get used to it and it tires me out compared to the absolutely wonderful semi-weighted keyboard of the Korg M3 that I have it paired with.

It looks like you’re all are Korg worshipping, and everything else is rubbish .playing for more than 40 years on keyboards and synths and know the difference in a lot of keys. Most important is the pleasure you can have with your keys, both deliver there owners a lot of pleasure, only the reel “geeks“ must complain about keys they never had played or owned , but remember that the best ever keyboard not exist and never will be made , I agree a lot that the build quality of the Pa is a lot better than the Genos , but when you buy a Yamaha you get so much extra content for free , Korg don’t give anything than some old styles from old models, to play Eu musik you must change you’re good Pa5 to a Musikant version which cost a lot more , instead of giving a software upgrade.
I bought the Pa5 to experience the Korg just out of curiosity, and I like the sound a lot but there isn’t any logic in the user interface.
On a Yamaha you can instantly play without a manual , that’s impossible on a Pa5 without manual.

Polar opposite.

Genos sucks, menu system unfathomable.

Acoustic piano sounds great, strings sound like a cat straining to poo, brass sounds like the player has his dangly bits in a vice.

Playing a 5X and Genos back to back really is like playing a modern workstation with the Genos sounding like a kids Bontempi.

I sold a Genos 1 to purchase the Pa5x; Although some of the Yamaha sounds are truly amazing; I really love the Korg Styles and customization ability, along with the Songbook better than Genos1/2. I'd rather perform in public with the Korg than the Yamaha because it sounds more Live Bandish. I do long for many of the Pa4x features in the 5x. Missing those features in the 5x is a hard pill to swallow. I'm really hoping Korg comes through with those features.

When was the last time you saw a US vehicle in the EU?
Literally just over a week ago, in Spain & Portugal (We were on a cruise to Portugal & Spain: Ponta Delgada, Lisbon, Cadiz, Barcelona). Interestingly a few Teslas, but of course no cybertrucks (won't fit on those tiny streets) and saw a ford that I didn't recognize the model (it was a crossover, along the lines of a Subaru Crosstrek)

We have some people who are stupid enough to buy US made Fords.

There are Mustangs and a Ranger available here in the UK, where they were made is another matter.

USA made cars have a history over here of being built very badly, designed even worst and handle like a destroyer in a storm.

Oof, yeah the streets in London are *really* tight. Explains why those old Triumphs (and Opels) are so compact!
My uncle had a TR6, then a GT1900, then a TR7 when I was a kid... he loves convertibles!

Alas cars have got much bigger but not our roads.

Where we could easily pass oncoming traffic on a two road, the width of modern cars makes it interesting.

Our roads are classified, Motorways, dual Carriageway, A road, B road and unclassified.

It is the B and Unclassified that can be dangerous to drive on.

London, is a free for all, no holds barred, everyone for themselves place to drive.

Version 1.4 will be released when Korg are good and ready to release it.
News about Pa5X update? 🤔

Quote from a post by 'Tapas' at SZ:

"The OS Update from Korg has been delayed once again. Now we are looking at a Nov/Dec time frame. However, that is not a hard deadline. The Korg programmers are working feverishly in Italy to bring you an OS Update that will address all the user issues.

It will be worth the wait."

Ford Puma, a pathetic attempt at a car.

Blurb says it is a mild hybrid, 3 cylinder 1.0 litre 125 ps 0-60 in 10s.

So it is not surprising that it is not seen on the American continent.

There is also the bigger but equally pathetic Kuga.

Then we also have the most pathetic of all Ford Models, the completely ruined Mustang EV.

As you can tell, I dislike Fords, never owned one, never will.
