PA5X left voice hold question

I have a question for PA5X users. I am considering upgrading to PA5X from Yamaha SX900. I like the SX900 Left Hand "Hold" panel button which basically holds sustain type voices such as choirs, pad and strings when you lift your hand off the keys while the style is playing. I am trying to determine from the manual if PA5X does something similar. I found two possible solutions with two images from the manual below. Can anyone confirm if one of these would be closest to the Yamaha feature?

1. I found a Memory panel button feature. The manual says this "keeps the chord and lower notes in memory" even after raising your hand off the keyboard". It's not clear if the term "lower notes" means the left hand voice from the keyboard set or notes from the style.

2. I found a sound "Hold" check box in the voice edit menu. I am wondering if saving the voice with this hold button checked and then assigning the voice to the left hand keyboard set would be the way to achieve this. Or maybe "Hold" in this menu means something else entirely.

Look on Page 192 of the User Guide.

The Memory Mode drop down gives different options when the Memory button is illuminated.

The page you posted relates to the individual sound and not to chord hold.

Do be advised that there are two manuals (1) User Manual, 1848 pages (2) Performance Guide, 488 pages. You need both, in usual Korgie speak, they never do things by half.

You will find the transition from a Yamahaha daunting at first but stick with it and everything clicks and the OS becomes very fast to move around.

The 5X sounds are awesome.

Thanks for responding. My question was probably too long and hard to understand. I want to know if the left hand VOICE, such as a strings preset (not the accompaniment chord) can hold the sustain indefinitely when hands go off the keybed, as Yamaha's hold feature does. I already had found the Memory feature in the manual but it is not clear if it holds the accompaniment chord AND the left hand voice. I am showing a pic of the sound edit screen because wondering if that feature will hold the left hand voice indefinitely if the Memory feature does not.

Yes that enables permanent hold of any note played.

No idea why you would want to use that feature which is specific to the Sound to which the box is checked.

Great, thanks for confirming what the Memory function does. I had posted the same question on Korg Forum but have not received any responses so far.

Regarding the sound edit screen, I will forget about that for now as I don't have the keyboard yet to explore what that does. My thinking was if the Memory function did not hold the voice, then saving a specially edited left hand voice with that hold option checked would be another way to achieve it.

I agree the 5X sounds nice. I did get to play one briefly in a music store in comparison to the Genos 2. I am fine with learning a new OS. I think learning an arranger is still a lot easier than learning a synth. I am coming to the conclusion that a Genos 2, while much better than my current SX900, would be too close of a product to spend over $5,500 USD to upgrade, whereas the PA5X I feel offers something different, and the sound and styles just seem so much more modern than Yamaha. That being said, I plan to keep my SX900 around and enjoy both.

There is a second footswitch input and a host of different functions that can be assigned to it, including sostenuto which would also give the hold feature, but I’m not sure if there is a keybed range can be assigned to it to limit its operation.
