Please Kind Folks! Help a novice out with first purchase!

I am looking into buying a Yamaha YPG-535, but as I don't know much about keyboards, I'm not sure if this is the right investment. I have about $500(USD) to spend and am looking for a keyboard with features similar to the YPG.

Please let me know if there is a better keyboard recommended for my intentions, or if this is the right move. I am open to any suggestions you great people may have!!

I'd recommend the DGX-640 also from Yamaha.

It has a proper hammer action keyboard instead of the soft touch keys. Very important if your aim is to learn proper piano fingering.

For the $200 difference in price it's worth spending a bit more to get the right keyboard the first time.

I'll second the love for the DGX-640, I have played one in the store and it feels even better than my trust old DGX-620. If you are serious about learning the piano, this is an excellent instrument.
