Problem with sound on the amplifier

Hello! I use my Korg D1 digital piano as a midi keyboard. I got a Roland UM-ONE midi cable to connect it to my computer. I installed the asio drivers and the Contact player. When I load any instrument in the Contact player, it sounds perfect on the headphones, but when I connect the Laney ah 80 amplifier with an aux cable, the sound is thin and very weak and not nearly as good as on the headphones. And also when I listen on the amplifier there is a delay while on the headphones it works perfectly. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thank you.

What exactly are you plugging the headphones and speakers into?

The same port or different ones on the computer soundcard or the keyboard itself?

It may be as simple as differing frequency response on the phones and the speakers. This could be somewhat adjusted by fiddling with the EQ settings.

As for the delay? It sounds like MIDI lag to me.

Even with ASIO drivers there might be need for some adjustment and optimization.

Thank you for your reply. I connect the headphones via the USB, and the amp via the 3.5 mm port, the only one on the laptop. I have a feeling it might be because of that 3.5mm connector

The USB headphones have their own soundcard built in.

The differences you hear are due to the difference from the computer soundcard.

Like I said. Play around with the EQ settings to adjust to your liking.

Thank you, I'll try.
Could maybe buying an external usb sound card give the best sound?

That's a choice left up to you and you alone.\

Whatever works best for you you'll have to figure put for yourself.
