Hi All,

I'm upgrading my gear, playing rock live.
I'm looking to invest and buy a new professional keyboard/synth.
I would like to avoid connecting additional modules if possible, this standalone keyboard should serve all my needs for live gigs.

My needs are:
- 76 or 88 keys (both heavy or light are fine).
- Must have excellent top-quality of pianos.
- Large and high quality sounds of many genres.
- Full programmable organ with all 9 drawbars and relevant effects.
- Must have at least 4 different split zones across the keyboard (e.g. Nord Stage 2 has only 3 zones which is limiting).
- Easily playing custom WAV or mp3 files in a single click, pads, knobs or keyboard key - all are ok.
- Should not be very heavy, ~17kg or less is fine (getting rid of my heavy-weight Kurzweil...).

Very nice to have but not required:
- Sampler
- Rhythm styles
- Programmable Synth

Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Dadi

You want something that can do everything a PC3 can do with 88 keys weighing 35 lbs?

Good luck with that.

Maybe the new Roland FA-08.

Probably built entirely out of recycled milk jug plastic though :p

Otherwise I couldn't suggest anything that weighs less than 50 lbs.

Hey Gary

Thank you for your reply.
As I wrote above I'm OK compromising with semi-weighted keys as well as 76 keys.

There are already some keyboards which are "almost there" of what I need... e.g. Nord Stage 2, Motif XF7 and more.
Maybe the new Roland Juno DS88 will be fine but it didn't arrived yet to the local stores.

Maybe someone here can suggest something relevant :)

Kronos 73 is an option indeed,

I do have problem with the small size of the keyboard. 76-Keys is already a big compromise so 73 is even more problematic.
It is also limiting the piano playing and also limiting the size of the layered zones.

Thanks :)
