PSR-520 partial display

The center portion of the display no longer displays the following: on/off and all of the accompaniment tracks (Rhythm, Bass, etc), the horizontal group of symbals and writing with tempo, measure, etc (chord at the right and register numbers 1 to 4 at the left are still visible but dim.) The bottom voice and volume icons can all be seen, and the top portion that displays the voice, style, can be seen and function OK. It is only the central portion of the display which takes the shape of a horizontal ellipse that is blanked out. All the other different functions of the keyboard work well. I don't know if it's the backlight of the LCD that is partially burned out in the central portion or if its the LCD itself that needs to be replaced, --- probably very costly unless I replace it myself.
