I have query on for basic learner.

Is the beginner can pick up with keyboard Chords pattern or shud he be playing the melody pattern to learn ?

OK, I'm a learner too. I started teaching myself in Dec. 07. No lessons...too expensive.

I started by teaching myself Chords, because that way I could play along with songs. I would suggest learning the theory of what Major and Minor Chords are. Start with easy ones like E, A and D. Very common chords.

But I would also suggest that as you practice some chords, practice the scales too. (major & minor). That way your fingers will get some training.
