Roland Go Keys 5 disaster

I bought a Roland GoKeys 5 because of it's various ways of connecting. After two days, the USB C midi port was damaged. Ok, my bad somehow maybe?. Next day, the volume slider was loose and not working suddenly. Now, the keyboard powers off but won't turn on again until I plug out the mains and wait a minute before plugging back in again...only now Notes A# and D in two octaves are playing multiple notes. The keyboards been in a study stand since getting here and hasn't so much as had a bump. Factory reset did nothing, firmware update did nothing.

Some places I go say this keyboard is very fragile, others extole its virtues. It's my first Roland and probably, my last.

I just read 108 independent reviews of the "go keys 5"
97 give it 5 stars
9 give it 4.5 stars or 4

Most issues of the 9, 4 star reviewers related to rattly sounding speakers and poorly built frame.
I read none with your issues @MusicalGlenn2022
Sorry to say yours seems to be an isolated lemon.
I think Roland should come to the party even if out of warranty. Get onto them and report back.
Best of luck

Shit happens, could have been banged around in transit ... if new should be under warranty and you should get a replacement. If used you better be contacting the seller cause you've been had.

Sorry to hear about this

This sort of thing is the #1 reason I purchase from Sweetwater (I’m in the U.S.).

They extend the mfr warranty out to 2yrs.

Thankfully I’ve only had to claim that once - but it worked out well. Now I have more peace of mind about possible gear failures.

I hope you bought it off Amazon
I bought it from Thomann in Germany. They told me the motherboard needs to be replaced along with other components. Roland said they lay the blame on me and say it's mechanical damage. Considering it sat on a very sturdy stand since I got it, I can't see how I caused such damage. using one finger to push or pull on the volume slider somehow resulted in it breaking by day two? Either the unit passed the quality tests by a miracle or it got banged around in transit.
