Hey all,

Just purchased a used Roland Juno DS-88 from a buddy. When I got it (it was shipped to me), it had damaged keys. I was able to disassembled the unit and fix the keys, however now I have a new issue. When I power on the unit, the screen turn on and one or two buttons will light up red, and then it freezes. You cannot change the screen with the scroll wheel or any other buttons. Clicking on any button does nothing. The 8 keypad buttons for the synth also do not light up blue at all. My friend said it was working when he shipped it so im assuming something broke in transit. He said he will obviously reimburse me for the broken unit, but I’m hoping someone has suggestions on if it’s fixable as it’s still a nice unit! I have the keyboard off the head unit currently, and I cannot see anything wrong with the board visually (no loose wires, contacts, etc). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Probably you screwed up plugging in a ribbon cable when you had it apart.

Lethal? Non lethal? Flip a coin. No smoke. That's good.

Take it to a tech and spend a couple hundred to diagnose and fix your "repair" if at all possible.

Those things sell for double the original price these days, ever since DJ Frump shat on the supply chain. :p

:D
