I just purchased one of these and in testing it I'm having trouble getting it to play midi files from a PC sequencer. I'm sending midi data from a PC Windows 10 playing Anvil Studio sequencer via midi cable to midi input on the Roland. I tested the cable on another keyboard and it's midi stream works fine there. I've gone through the (rotten) manual and I can't see anything that I missed. The unit plays back its demo songs and outputs audio OK. Anyone out there can enlighten me?

Common newbie mistake: Maybe you reversed MIDI IN AND MIDI OUT cables?

Industry standard is always IN to OUT and OUT to IN.

Then make sure the MIDI port is enabled and configured on the Roland.
