hey guys, I'm considering buying a keyboard and wanted the opinion of other players on whether to get a 49key or 61key system. I do want something portable but i dont want to be stuck with too few keys either.

The ones I have in mind are the M-Audio Axiom series.

the 49 is here, http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Axiom49-main.html

the 61 is here, http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Axiom61-main.html

I have played on a regular, 88key piano for a long time and this will be my first keyboard. But I'm wondering if you guys feel like you need 5 octaves for music instead of 4. What's your opinion on what to get?

thanks in advance,

Welcome to the keyboardforums tekkan...the Axiom is a midi controller, it has no sample bank/sounds built into it, are you to be using this with softsynths with a computer, or a sound module?
