Just for fun. An Adam and Eve tune, one of very few with lyrics. https://www.davidkempton.com/fall/

One for happyrat1 - not microtones, but as close as i get: https://www.davidkempton.com/rec/life/ This uses the VL-70m wind synth.

Video of me with Willie Bobo and Dizzy Gillespie, Nice, 1979: https://www.davidkempton.com/bobo/

My ultimate "Dash Radio" to play almost every track on the website non-stop: https://www.davidkempton.com/radio.htm
Enjoy, do NOT "buy" anything, most of them can be dl'ed for free now. If you want something, let me know. I'll set a link.

The Dirty Old Man in me has to say "Initiation Of The Maidens" is the best piece :D

Way too much to digest at once.

I've bookmarked your website for later. ;)

Those were both a long time ago. These days its pizza parlors (funny, that was my first ever steady gig at 14) and a big band jam band at retirement homes, with the occasional hotel. But it's music. You don't retire, fachrissake, whatcha gonna DO? We do music. When one door closes, another is there to kick down...
But thanks. My personal favorite is Pipe Dreams from the Life Cycles album. I tried to fuse my limited knowledge of raga with my limited knowledge of quartal harmonies. But playing that Bobo tour was great fun. We played both Newports (neither of which was in Newport, Dizzy played with us at three different venues, we opened for Weather Report at the first Playboy festival at the Hollywood Bowl and they opened for us at Montreux! (Not who you want as an opening act...) But I learned that I did not want to touring; it's great fun to play for 5,000 people but jazz to me is more personal than that. The smoky jazz room is now illegal, but the pizza parlor isn't hiring Dixieland either! Here (Monterey Peninsula) we're got a cadre of excellent musicians to mix with and play jazz from the 30s to today's smooth jazz heroes. So I'm just glad to be here having this much fun. All the best, sir rat. I've got a busy week ahead and may not be back for a bit, but the forum is on speed dial on my browser.
