You be the judge . .
Living in a Ghost Town vs. Smooth
I think Mick and Keith ripped off Carlos. What you think?

There is a lot of similarities tonally and in the riffs.

But Santana, come on no one can improve on perfection of Smooth not even Ronnie Wood who my money is on as playing lead on the track.

Smooth is my fave song of his and yep lucky enough to have seen and hear him play it live a few times.

Just listened to both but no matter how hard I listen I can't detect any ripoff.

Tempo and melodic notes played are quite different and mutually exclusive.

If there's a ripoff I can't hear it.

I think same tempo, same rhythm, same beat, similar melody!
Maybe not a ripoff but vey similar sounding and some COPIED aspects for sure!

The basslines are totally different notes and the rhythms simply are not the same. Cue up the middles of both videos and listen to each one in snippets back to back.

THEN the differences stand out.

Gary ;)
