This happened unexpectedly when playing my SP5-8. Does anyone have any experience of this problem/how to fix it?
I’ve never opened up this keyboard myself so am wary of busting it open straight away without any advice.
Thank you in advance

Definitely a broken key. If it's not under warranty and you're handy with DIY, there's a lot of videos on youtube if you search on "keyboard repair" and "kurzweil repair." Just be sure not to remove the wrong screws from the baseplate and be sure to document the disassembly with lots of camera photos so you can put it back together EXACTLY the way it came apart. Keep track of all the screws and which ones go where and mark the cables with a sharpie so that you don't reverse any of them.

Or, send it to a keyboard tech and pay the $200 it would cost to fix.

BTW Col, that's not a service manual you linked to. It's a user manual. Totally useless for a repair.
