Get a video recorder with a microphone input. Generally the microphone on video recorders suck, and phones are worse.

If you want good video recorders for musicians, go to the online music stores. Good names include Zoom. Unless the sound of the amplifier adds to the sound you're trying to capture, record the direct signal.
