I’ve found both instruments on the used market, but they’re in excellent condition, and I’m honestly quite torn between the two. My main goal is music production, especially creating soundtracks for games, films, and documentaries, as well as sound design and sound effects for these types of projects. At the same time, I also want an instrument that I can comfortably use for live playing at church.

On one hand, I feel very drawn to the Nautilus AT 88. The keybed is a big factor for me, and I’m really impressed by the overall depth and richness of its sound engines, which seem especially inspiring for cinematic and atmospheric work. On the other hand, the Montage 6 also looks extremely appealing, mainly because of the large number of physical controls, its powerful synthesis capabilities, and its more compact and practical size.

Both instruments seem amazing in their own way, and that’s exactly what makes this decision so difficult. I keep going back and forth between them, and I’m struggling to figure out which one would better fit my needs and workflow in the long run. I’d really appreciate any advice or insight from people who have experience with either (or both) of these keyboards.

The Montage is discontinued, its replacement is the Montage M series.

So are you are not considering or comparing like for like.

A Nautilus AT88 is £1875 whereas a Montage M6 is £3300 so quite a difference and they are not really comparable, Korg’s Kronos is the nearest to the Montage M range.

Kronus 88 £3200, 73 £2900 & 61 £2600

Montage M88 £4100, M7 £3700, M6 £3300

No contest Korg wins.

This is an odd choice... you're choosing between an 88 key and a 61? (I say odd, because why not both? Don't you need an 88 key weighted keyboard?)

Both are very capable instruments; but if you need weighted keys, there aren't many workstations with better weighted keys (there is that one Roland Fantom with wooden keys, but that thing weighs nearly a ton). The piano sound on both is great; but beyond sounds, I would've thought the keys would be the determining factor on what to get?
