Hello

I have bought a psr sx600 keyboard. But the keys seems very hard to press even with the lightest touch setting. i did the touch weight test with coins and it took 82.7 grams to push the key all the way down. Is this a normal weight for that keyboard?

See if you can adjust the velocity curve of your board to lighten up or stiffen up your keybed.

Most keyboards have at least 3 or more adjustment settings.

I have set the touch response to "Soft2:" which should be the lightest touch setting.

Well technically that setting controls the volume of the note depending on how hard (quickly) you hit the key.

What's concerning you is the actual spring tension on each key resulting in how much pressure it requires to fully depress.

Manufacturers generally design around their idea of the action of a concert grand piano.

Different synths have different degrees of minimum key pressure.

Your Yamaha is probably the same as every other Yamaha that uses that particular keybed.

This is why people should try a test drive before they buy.

They are what they are if you have the keyboard set on the lowest setting, Soft 1.

If this is still to hard for you then you are limited in your options, return it and buy either a Korg Pa 700 or a Casio (not recommended) or get used to it which you will.

If you have bought it without trying it first do find a music store and have a play of as many in you price range as you can and you will find the digital pianos far, far, heavier with their hammer action.
