TYROS 2 - can't hear Channel 3 (bass)

Hi there,

in one of my MIDIs I can't hear the bass track.

What I have done:

1. open song but did not start

What I want to do is to revoice CH3.

I started the SONG CREATOR

2. in the MIXIING CONSOLE a MEGA voice is in CH 3. But I can't hear anything. Red light indicates that a bass is in the MIDI

3. I changed the voice, did EXECUTE and SAFE .

4. The next time I opened the song the new voice is indicated. Ok, but can't hear the bass..

What is wrong? May be a revoice is not possible?

Hints and tricks are highly welcomed. Thx in advance.

Um, if you have a megavoice, you might want to switch to a normal voice; megavoices use multiple velocity layers to control "articulations"; which sample should be played out of the myriad within 1 megavoice; which means that you can also have essentially a 0 velocity sound multiple times (e.g at 0, 50, 70, 90 and say, 112 velocity). They can be manually mapped, but Yamaha doesn't publish the megavoice velocity chart.

In fact, megavoices themselves don't all use the same velocity layers for switching, so swtiching from one megavoice to another can also generate undesirable results.

Short answer: plug in a regular bass sound (S.Art or S.Art2 is fine as well, or a synth bass), unless you understand how to program megavoices.
