Hello,

I want to use two MIDI keyboards with a sound module and merge the signal with a midi box. My question has to do with the power supply to the keyboards.

I'm going to use two AlesisQ49, which require a 9Volt 500mA power supply (one per keyboard). I am considering buying one 9V 1000mA to feed both keyboards instead of two 9V 500mA, but I think that I could use the USB socket to power them. If I were to use the keyboards with a computer I would use the usb cable for MIDI and power supply also but, is it wrong to use an USB cable just to power a device?. As I won't use a computer I'll have to a usb charger like this:

That would be cheaper than using two psu's.

Thanks,
Pepe.
