Hi, I've been having some trouble with my VR-09.
Sometimes when I call up an organ sound and then pull the drawbars, it causes all sorts of havoc on the digital display.
The other night I was in the middle of a performance and called up a synth sound, when suddenly, the display said "DELAY" and the number values were scrolling up and down all on their own.
Here's a youtube link as it explains the problem better than I can verbally. You can see as I pull down on the drawbars, the others respond randomly.
The problem is, this is only an intermittent issue, so any time I take it in to be looked at, I'm told it's fine.
All I can do to fix it right now is cross my fingers and reboot repeatedly until it decides to work.
Wondering if anyone else has encountered this same issue - thanks!

rule out software as being the issue by resetting the keyboard to factory.
  1. Press MENU.
  2. Use the Value dial to select "System" and press ENTER.
  3. Use the Cursor buttons (^/v) to select "Factory Reset" and press ENTER.
  4. Press ENTER again to confirm the operation.
  5. When the reset is complete, power the VR-09/09B/730 off and back on.
If the problem persists after this then it is probably a hardware issue.

It might be something flaky with the power supply. Activating the drawbars may be causing an intermittent surge or drop in the supply. Or the supply itself may be ready to fail.

Try replacing the supply with a new one and see if the problem persists.

That would be where to start if you're troubleshooting hardware anyway.

But just in case, what happens when you do a full system reset? Have you tried that first?

Gary ;)

thank you, I'll try the reset! I can save my banked sounds to a USB drive and reload them after resetting, right? I'd hate to have to craft those sounds from scratch again...

Yes, I'll definitely try the reset, and get a new power supply too, that wouldn't hurt. thanks for the reply!
