I've recently picked up a used VR-09 and thinking of switching it out for my current YC61 which is my top keyboard in my live rig. For the life of me I can't figure out how to send a PC from bandhelper.
Can anyone help me?

Is the question about how to send Program Changes from Bandhelper? Or how to use Program Changes to select sounds on the VR09? If the latter, Program Changes can be used to change which tone is called up within an individual section, but the VR09 does not support using MIDI Program Change to switch Registrations. This is the opposite of the YC61, where you can change Live Sets (its equivalent of Registrations) using MIDI Program Change, but you cannot use Program Change messages to change the voices assigned to the individual parts.

Hi.
I'm able to use bandhelper to send PCs to my Roland FA-08 and my Yamaha YC61 but not the VR09. I can't find how to do that.
I can live without using registrations I guess but I can't figure out how to send PC info re the tones either. Any help is appreciated!!

See: https://support.roland.com/hc/en-us...30-MIDI-Channels-and-the-MIDI-In-Mode-Setting

Based on that info, it looks like you need to be in MIDI Mode 2, and send on Channel 3 if you're trying to change the sound of the lower part, or channel 4 if you're trying to change the sound of the upper part.

Though looking at the referenced MIDI Implementation doc, it's possible that you may need to send sysex rather than PC messages for selection of non-GM sounds. The good news is that Bandhelper can not only send Program Changes, but IIRC, it can send SYSEX as well.
