My VR-09 was set up in the bands practice studio and got knocked on the floor by a dog.The Synth section buttons got buster out.

So ya, I got a phone call with the news. Bill, the leader of the band, asked me if he could take it apart and try and fix it - I said go for it.

By the time I got to the studio last night he had it all fixed except the Clav button. It still functions, but it sits up a little crooked and is a bit wonky. Doesn't click anymore, but it still lights up and works.

Oh well, stuff happens. Bill offered to replace the keyboard with his insurance but I told him not to.

I set the Nord up at practice and had a great night anyway. And no, I didn't leave the Nord at the studio 😀

I'm amazed at how little sympathy this post has received.

I feel for ya man. Losing a key piece of gear that way to a stupid, preventable accident would give me a nervous fit.

Forget about any sort of future resale value if worse came to worst.

I realize it's still playable, but will you ever look at it again with the same eyes you once did?

I'd say, milk the damned insurance company for all they're worth. If it's covered for full replacement cost then you're laughing, just like those thieves do at renewal time, all the way to the bank. :p

Yes indeed.
I overlooked this post.
Reviewing it now 'cause Gary aroused me hehe.,
Sorry man for for what the dog did.
But accidents happen as you know and your band leader acknowledges fault offering insurance replacement.

Seems you have a reliable band leader and you took it calmly.

It could have underlying faults too which you haven't seen yet.

I would take up on the insurance.

Ouch. Yes, I'd take it up with insurance as well; there could be a hairline fracture on a PCB somewhere, etc. A dropped board is never fun.

I'd have thought if you have a dog large enough to knock equipment over, you'd not allow the dog into that room
