"Frozen North"

We get *less* snow (11.5" annual) on the west coast than the panhandle region of Texas does (17") , btw :p

It was 95° F when we were in the Rockies and in talking to the Driver of the coach during one of the many stops we made between Jasper and Banff he commented that it is no fun changing a coach wheel in Winter when it is -40°F.

Fun fact: we received *no* snow for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

So they ended up trucking snow in from as far as Alberta! And topping that up with artificially generated snow... when the camera zoomed out during the 2010 olympics, you could see the surrounding areas (where the audience was) was all grass.

btw the all time record low in Richmond BC, we've hit -17.8C twice (1950, 1968); since then, we've hit -15C in 2008 in Vancouver, and -16 in 2021 in Vancouver (Richmond is always slightly warmer).

What I recall from learning to drive in a Vancouver winter was skating down icy hills in the freezing rain :p

Best seafood restaurants in the country though. :D

There are some indoor ski centres in the UK, this is in Manchester.

I have never skied there.

Up in Edinburgh they do not need snow, there is a massive artificial ski centre.

So there are plenty of options for Canada hosting the Winter Olympics.
