Which keyboard should I buy for this purpose?

Total newbie question:
What is the best choice for a keyboard (or keyboard) under $1000 with a good selection of vintage synth pads, and some real-sounding strings (rather than obvious synth strings, which are cool, but not best for my purposes)?
None of these things matter: Number of keys, weighted or non-weighted, authentic piano, organ, etc.
The selection of analog-era synth sounds, yet some authentic sounding strings, are my only concerns.
Thank you!

VA synth + good sampled strings... I'm thinking a used Roland FA-06 would fit the bill, with its SuperNatural Synth, SuperNatural Ensemble Strings, and a lot of other nice string sounds in the freely downloadable "strings collection" and "orchestral collection" expansions.
