YAMAHA MOTIF 6 mystery

hello all
greetings from NJ
i have purchased a Yamaha Motif Classic 6
is it possible to chop up a sample and then play the chopped samples back rhythmically much like pads on an MPC and then have the sequencer record that performance?
seems pretty impossible !!
also note: I have no Data card or external drive
I’m seeking an expert on the Motif 6 classic to help me!!
because it’s driving me mad!
