Yamaha MX49 - how to limit it to 1 input midi channel?

Any ideas on this? Currently i just pick a single midi input channel eg 5, but it pays all notes on the input midi channel (rg from channels 1, 2 plus 5)

im using my alesis mmt8 for output

The MX version of the Performance Editor from John Melas will let you change the MIDI channels of all the parts, including changing them to "off" if you don't want them to respond to external input, or putting multiple parts on the same MIDI channel if you want them triggered together from a single channel of MIDI input.
