Good day, I am a total newbie to keyboards at all. I have recently bought a second hand Yamaha PSR-K1 keyboard. It did not have the software, so I downloaded everything as per the manual. This keyboard does not take a USB and I had to connect the keyboard to my PC. After a whole day's effort I managed to get my PC read the keyboard.

The problem is loading Midi music onto the the Media card from my PC. I can see the music that is currently loaded on the card but cannot load or unload any music - the SongFiler gives me this message:
"Specify up to 8 letters for the file name and up to 3 for the extension". And this is were I need someone's help please.

Welcome to the forums. See Pg 14 of the user manual regarding connecting the keyboard to a computer and limitations on data exchange. Also note that the manual specifies the need to install the USB Midi Driver to your computer. YOu might try Youtube as welll for a related video on how to do this. Here is a link to the owners manual. Good Luck ! Don aka B3maniac
