I have an older Yamaha YPG-625 digital keyboard whose LCD display is not functioning. The display backlight is on but only shows some random artifacts. I assume that the display circuit board will need to be replaced. However, I need to be sure that there is not another component causing or contributing to the issue.

If anyone can offer some information, I would truly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Try unplugging and reseating the module first. It could be simply oxidized contacts on the ribbon connector.

Doing a reset did not solve the problem. As I recall, I checked & cleaned the ribbon connector when I replaced the felts for the keys. SO, I suspect that something needs replacing. The display circuit board seems logical. But there could be other contributing factors. I want to be reasonably certain before I tear down the keyboard.
