I used to have a P255 but had to unload it for financial reaaons. One of the things I loved was the ‘Input’ slot in the back. I could plug in a backing track from my phone and the sound would come out the keyboard headphones.

I just got a CP33; there is no input. What options or choices do I have to get the same result? How can I play the track and have the keyboard sound both come out of headphones?

Thanks!

awesome thanks for link this looks pretty simple.

Is there any loss of sound quality in this method?

Not unless you have ultrasonic hearing like a bat or a dolphin. :D

Seriously though, the device with the worst SNR, THD and bandwidth is always the limiting factor in any audio chain.

Fortunately the crappiest device in most modern signal paths is always the speakers or the microphone or both. The laws of physics and technology dictate the mechanical devices have the worst precision of all mechanisms in the chain.

Choose any mixer you'd like with reasonable specs and you'll be OK.

You should worry more about whatever headphones you are using.

Gary ;)
