    Hi!

First of all, I'm new here so I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

Does anyone know how I can get this keyboard sound without spending a fortune?

I'm really clueless about keyboards so I hope this isn't a completely stupid question.

    Thanks!

Hammond organ through a distorted amp. Not hard to get if you have a workstation keyboard :)

Ok... Thanks! As I said, I'm really clueless about these things. Are there any that you would recommend?

Nope... Not until you know exactly what you need :)

Take a look at the "Articles" section on the forum

    I'll do that!

Thank you for your patience! I guess I should've looked around before asking... However, I bet I will be bothering you some more once I finish reading that section! :)

I've read the articles page and although it's very informative, I think I could use some help. Really, what I'm looking for is something simple to play with my band. It won't have an important role, it's just to play in some songs by me or the other guitarist. All we're looking for is something that could produce that type of sound I've shown on the youtuve clip. It would also be nice to have a Rhodes emulator but it's not essential. Since it's not something to be used a lot, we'd really like to avoid spending a lot of money (maybe under 500€, if possible).

I guess a midi controller wouldn't give us what we're looking for... Does it have to always be connected to a computer? Isn't it possible to upload certain sound files? And would it have a decent quality?

On the other hand, the keyboard workstations seem to be exactly what we're looking for but they're a bit too expensive for us...

So, with that in mind, any suggestions?

Midi controllers can't have sounds uploaded onto them..

Try searching for a used workstation then... There's a list of prices in the articles (the price may vary though).

Just for the fact of having bajillion free sounds on the web - I'd say go for Korg

    Hi!

I've been searching around. Do you think the Korg Microstation would be a good choice for the kind of sound I'm looking for?

You might find a sound like that there, yes - but i doubt it would be a joy to play on such tiny keys :)
