I used to play the keyboard a bit when I was very young, and fancy giving it a bash again. However, I'd really like to try playing songs I actually listen to, and mucking them about. However, my ears arn't nearly sharp enough to do it myself.
I was wondering if there's a PC program which I can feed mp3s into, and it will tell me the notes/chords used, sort of producing sheet music for me. I understand that it must be much more complicated than that, perhaps having to set different frequency bands so that it can pick up different instruments, but surely it must be possible.
I'm sure there is a software/hardware solution for this. Any recommendations/key words would be very useful indeed. Ideally I'd like free PC software, off download.com or something. At the moment I just don't know what to search for.
