Can anyone advise the diameter, length and thread pitch for the bolts to mount the YC-45D to the factory stand? There are 4 mounting points with recessed threads inside the housing. Thanks for your help!

Just take a pencil lead, smear it on the threads, roll up a short paper tube, insert and press against the threads with the rubber end of the pencil, and measure the impressions with a micrometer.

(old machinist's trick) :)

Get out your twist drill set and insert the shank of say a 4 or 5 mm drill into one of the holes.

This will give you the depth.

Feel how much movement there is side to side and if there is a lot change the drill until it is tightish.

The drill size is near enough the Root Diameter of the threaded screw.

If the drill shank is 5mm the threaded setscrew required will be 6mm

If a 4mm drill shank is slightly loose then the setscrew is likely to be 5mm.

Do not use a setscrew longer than is required

@phmichel also asked for the thread pitch.
You guys have just told him how to measure diam and length.
Thread type?
You will need a thread gauge to be certain.
It could be UNF, UNC, WHITWORTH or METRIC.

Do you need new bolts?
Do you have one? Take it to an Industrial Supplies Coy. to measure and buy.

Thanks for the replies everyone. We have no mounting bolts so I don't have a sample. I assume they're metric. Looks like a coarse thread. I have a service manual but it's half Japanese and there is no mention of the mounting bolts.

Most likely metric if Jap.
If it measures 8mm (for example) just go and buy some M8 Bolts to the relevant length. They won't cost you much.

Only North America uses old outdated fastening products.

The civilised world uses Metric.

Yeah, despite the fact that thread standards were devised and developed by Stockport born Joseph Whitworth

Thanks Biggles. And where were you last Saturday? :)
I'm quite familiar with Whitworth. My first car was a 51 Austin of England A40 Devon.
