Check the ketron manuals for how many polytimbral channels are available but I think the DGX limits you to two zones.

At the price that Ketron kit retails for you may be better off swapping out your DGX for a better Arranger with 88 keys if you want to stick with that number of keys.

Um... it'll be difficult to use a DGX as a controller since it doesn't have a 5 pin midi out (yes, there are usb to usb midi boxes, but that's a whole other can of worms).

And remember there is no warranty with Ketron in Canada. There's a reason both we, & Long&Mcquade stopped carrying them altogether. I can only tell you as a retailer how frustrating it is to tell customers "Sorry, but you have to pay 2 way shipping to Italy". We both also stopped carrying GEM (General Music) for the exact same reason

Ron, email them and ask about Ketron warranty, because the reason we dropped them (and Long & McQuade did too) is because there's no warranty support in Canada; and we got tired of having to tell people they needed to mail their boards to italy and back.

Biggles: yes that's a real option, but in Canada Korg is only 1 year warranty, Yamaha is 2 (and Ketron is 0). And yes, it makes a huge difference when dealing with a several $thousand board.

That warranty sucks, Korg’s is two years here in the UK.

Are third party Insurance Warranties available via Retailers or Direct with an Insurer in Canada?

Ketron are for sale at a dealer 20 minutes away from me and their website says that they have a 12m return to base Warranty.

Yes, it sucks! In Europe both Yamaha and Korg are 5 years, wth!

Ketron return to base warranty is the problem; it now costs more than $1000 (actually closer to $2k) for ONE way insured shipping to Italy, and you have to prepay both ways (other brands make you pay 2 way shipping as well, if they have no local warranty)

Ron & Gary are fellow Canadians, btw, so my warranty info is pertinent.

I can speak from experience. I own a Kurzweil PC3K8 that's finally quit on me after 12 years.

If I want it repaired by authorized service I gotta ship to the USA nowadays, Trump's stupid tariffs and all.
