When I was using my second tier, I used an On Stage Stands model coupled to my On Stage double x braced main stand. The ends on the second tier were a little taller than the ones you show pictured. I never had any problems with the second keyboard moving around or sliding off. I still have my second tier but don't use it anymore since I am now primarily a piano player and have both of my digital pianos set up side by side in my music room. Perhaps in the future, I'll employ it again. Anyway, you might want to look into the On Stage Stands model of second tier add on. I think I purchased mine for about $50.00 from Sweetwater Sound. Just a suggestion. Hopefully this will remedy your issue. If I remember correctly, the On Stage Stands model is compatible with most other keyboard stands. I would check the specifications of it along with the inside diameter of the tubular supports of your current stand(if applicable). It should say what the requirements are on Sweetwater's website. Anyway, I hope this helps you out. Best wishes.
