I want to buy a keytar, but do you plug them into amps with the same tech as guitars? How to you plug them in? What do you use, can you use wireless connectors?

You plug them into Softsynths, which are usually Sound Modules (like this one), a computer or even another keyboard.
I doubt that you could plug them into guitar techs or amps at all, since (as they're MIDI-based) you probably won't find an Autio output on it.

Depends which model keytar you get. Most are MIDI controllers which need a connection to another unit as Sargas describes above. However, the new Roland AX-Synth has a built in sound engine so you can plug it straight into an amp like a guitar, or use a normal guitar wireless system.
