Hi there, I'm new to these forums. Would love some advice on modding keyboards/keytars.

I have an AX-synth that has a volume knob, but it doesn't actually transmit MIDI CC data when it is used as a MIDI controller.

I would like to either mod the AX-synth so it does transmit MIDI data, or just add my own custom knob at the back that can be used for this purpose.

Would anyone know how this would be done?

I can't see this being done without extensive hardware AND firmware modification of the keytar.

You're probably better off just adding a MIDI volume pedal or foot controller to the MIDI output loop.

Or if you really feel like going nuts and you can find the room inside rewire a controller pedal's guts into the inside of the keytar.

It'd be a shame to fry a $700 keytar on a failed experiment though :(

Gary ;)
