can anyone help out with a studiologic vmk-176

i'm having trouble with my new midi controller, the studiologic vmk-176. every time i program the sustain pedal (or any programmable parameter) it forces me to choose a specific midi channel for the program to apply to-- with no choice of "omni" or "all". then, when i try to program the sustain to another channel, it overwrites the previous data, so that i can only program the pedal to one channel at a time. this is extremely inconvenient, being as i play with a live setup with different sounds assigned to different midi channels. the instruction manual is no help and studiologic tech support appears to be nonexistant. If someone could help me out soon that would be wonderful, because otherwise i will have to return the board. thank you all
