Neon blue LED musical keyboard
Upper and lower keys all light up according to keys pressed
Can turn off LED’s for daytime play
Controlled by midi software connected to a computer or smart phone or independently no PC required
Option to dim LED’s
The ability to play in a dark environment producing appealing effects
Cameras to some degree give a small differential visual appearance and the glow looks more attractive through the naked eye
Everyone’s views on this post will be different that’s what makes us all unique

I've added a battery-powered strip of LEDs (dimmable, and various color choices) to my Hammond "B3 case" for my Hammond SK Pro 73 for use on dark stages -- see the images below -- but keys that light up?

My first thoughts...

* How's the keybed and the action? (Most important!)

* How's the sound? (Also important! Or is it MIDI with virtual VSTs?)

* What happens when the LEDs on the most-used keys fail? (Important some day)

For fast leads or soloing, I also think I'd want to know "where G3 is" before I hit it -- and not when/after it's played...

To me, the lighting or the lighting effects (those lit-up keys) is secondary to the sounds & music I'm playing. If it helps -- great! -- but it's not the primary output.

Hi.
This is a project completed by me
It’s a keyboard not a piano
Touch sensitive with hammer keys

It’s not a pro version keyboard & the LED can be controlled by midi information or standalone no computer, it’s in my post

I can replace the LED’s if they fail as I did the mod myself
The LED is instant no delay
I will add a dimmer in the near future
Absolutely it’s about knowing where the notes are regardless of any lighting effects

It’s for visual presentation depending on the angle on stage not for learning

LED’s are becoming popular now on many things

I respect all replies

Thanx

Regards

I bought a strip of "Tenmiro LED light 100ft music sync" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0932M1666, I cut a strip of it to fit, and pasted it around my Nord Stage 3. You can see it here, the white strip around the bottom keyboard, although the lights aren't turned on at this moment:

Hi.
Yes I can see the LED strip on ya KB
If your interested take a look at COB LED dot less strip lights more appealing to the eye and gives off a continuous glow than the old normal DOT strip lights which have gaps in between each LED
Some can run on 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries 2 meter length single colour Neon Blue for hours
Multi flashing with WiFi & BT require more power to run at least 5V phone charger type and up to 9/12/24V AC or DC
Google or YouTube COB strip light
Let me know what you think
Regards

Thanks for suggesting this, it definitely looks cool, I went ahead and bought a 5' Tatazone roll from Amazon.

Hi.
Geez, that was fast shipping and already completed and will look fantastic

I know this is not the correct place to post but this is my guitar below LED’s imbedded in binding powered by 2 x AAA batteries runs for hours also posted in guitar forums.

Will install LED’s in an acoustic drum set so when you strike a drum or cymbal they will light up neon blue and turn off till hit again. It’s a project in the works and will take some time and no approx completion forecast as yet. All powered by AC or DC and easy plug and play wiring, what are your thoughts on this ?

I also installed similar to a wooden cabinet.
I did a little trick to hide the wide white outer metal strips, I coloured the outer edges with brown permanent texta so you can only see the middle LED tube. I masked the edges and the globe with painters tape to address this.

I think that's a good idea. I'm too lazy to set mine up to synchronize with music. The guitarist in an 80s band I sometimes play with, has LED lights all around her Marshall stack, she's got it synchronized and it looks good.

Hi.
Thanx I think LED’s look fantastic as long as you shield them to minimise interference.
The keyboard LED’s I damaged 2 of the solder tracks, YouTube and Google helped me repair the board tracks. I tend to put projects on the back burner and do in drips and draps when I feel confident it will be a success. The LED’s are a easy fit and sync to music but my drummer wants them only to turn on for a brief moment then off till striked again, this is more complex.
Excellent to hear the lady plays guitar and installed LED’s to the amp. I have a fender bass amp that has factory manufactured LED’s in the amp cabinet and syncs to your playing.

Hi.
Cool are some LED’s on the left blown ?
If so you can cut the LED strip on the join mark and solder new LED short strip to address faulty ones, I done this it’s easy if you can solder or know someone who can google or youtube this for video demonstration. You need to have some spare roll left which I think they may have lying around

I’m certain they only had dot LED’s when fitted to the amp in your photo but Cob LED light strips will give a continuous glow of light compared to dot LED’s it’s in my post and are more pleasant and attractive on the eyes.

A photo of my Fender rumble amp and could possibly modify the red lights at some later stage

Here's a video clip showing my guitarist's led lights in action:
Hi.
I put on my studio headphones and watched the video. Fantastic to see the members of your group in action. 80’s were the best time in my life growing up. I am not much of a player more into modifying/upgrades and know that quality instruments makes a huge difference to the audio frequency and signal to noise ratio. Keyboard players are definitely a terrific bonus to any band.
The quality of the picture and sound is great even know it’s shot from a distance.
I found your other videos on YouTube also.
Thanx
Well done, keep it up.

That gig (the one in the video) was what inspired me to put led lights on my Nord Stage 3, because I saw the lights on the guitarist's amp and it looked cool.

It's not my group, though, I was just sitting in that night for their regular keyboardist who couldn't make it.

80s music has always been my favorite genre. Unfortunately my band doesn't do enough of it.

There are many factors that go into whether a band sounds really good, versus mediocre. Each factor, by itself, is small, but put together it adds up and makes a big difference. One of the factors is the quality of the equipment: PA, speakers, sound board, and instruments.

Yes we are! ;)

I'm not sure what they used for video.

But for audio, I can speak a little about that. This particular venue (Sagebrush Cantina) is well known in the San Fernando Valley/Ventura County area for Live Music. They have a good sound system and a really good sound engineer who gets a lot of practice because they host live music every single weekend from Friday through Sunday, putting on band after band. So the sound guy knows exactly what he's doing and has everything dialed in. They have the drummer behind plexiglass, they mic all the pieces of the drum kit. The sound guy sits in a booth out in the audience (the point of view where the video was shot from) and mixes from there.
I found your other videos on YouTube also.
I'm not sure if you saw the 80s band videos, or my band. If you want to see my band, search for Brittney and the B Sides Ventura. If you have any suggestions for lighting, etc, that could spruce us up, let me know.

Hi,
Yes I know it’s not your band but you all play a important part.

I was asked to play in a band but because of cost of living expenses and being some distance for me to travel I noticed the vocalist would only pick songs they liked, what about the other members, isn’t their input also important on song choice also, the key can be changed to suit any vocalists range so I decided not to participate like other members who shared the same view as me. Bands start to have issues because of this and other factors.

I have a guitar that is a Epiphone and noticed noise through the amp.
I purchased a 3 way switchcraft toggle switch and soldered it even without new wiring and it eliminated the noise quite well. I will also change the output jack, pots and wiring even know it may only reduce somewhat to a minimum degree but great hardware on any instrument can make a difference. The pickups which are Seymour Duncan were changed even before the switch. Guitar cables, pedals and amp also make a difference to the sound quality and the life expectancy, same goes for every other instrument or accessory in the band.

Product quality and life expectancy is not ment to last if musco’s use mediocre equipment dependant on one’s budget.
Vintage equipment still can not be matched.

The sound technician obviously is experienced and did a fantastic job setting up the sound stage recording.

I watch your band videos, wow you have many bookings from what I can see.

If I have any ideas I’ll run them by you sometime in the future as I have a lot of mods on my plate to begin and complete.

Regards
John
