Just a quick question, I have a pair of Focal Shape Twins monitors. When I turned them off at the back I noticed that the back plate was quite hot to the touch. is this normal?

Many thanks!

It’s probably a design spec to use the rear plate as a heat sink.

Warm weather intensifies the effect.

Keep it well ventilated and add a fan if you’re worried.

Thank you, Gary. These Focal don't have a port of anything on the back so I suspect they have to dispense there heat somehow. It is likely that it has always happened and I just didn't notice.

The back plates are physically connected to the heat sinks of the power modules.

Like I said. If the ambient temperature is above 85 F then I'd recommend pointing a fan at them.

And the manufacturer's specs will specify maximum operational temperature.

Gary ;)
