Yamaha clav 88 key issues

I recently acquired an old yamaha keyboard. Mid 80s after a month, the entire octave at middle c went dead. I have done the usual.. powered down to cool off a bit and rebooted with no luck. At this point I'm probably going to open it up and see. Any advice?
