Hi there. I'm looking at getting a new keyboard but really am not sure what to look at! I'm a competent player + in quite a sucessful band but I've been stuck with a Yamaha PSR740 since new. It has served me well and I've managed to get some decent sounds out of it but is not very portable for gigging and I need a change.

Will I need two lightweight synths or organs. I use many different voices on our tracks such as string sections, piano, differing types of organ (from "blackpool" types to distorted rotary) to accordions!

I'd need something that would cover these groups well but be quite low end price wise and nice and light.

Can anybody suggest some killer cost-effective keyboards?! Our genre is Indie BTW.

    define killer cost-effective :)

How much money do you have? I'd recommend the yamaha MO series.
It's a motif without the sampling option, less poliphony, and softer keys, but I think it'll do great.

Or are you more interested in stage pianos with those kind of sounds?

Cause the problem is, you can't edit them as you would on a workstation.
