Hi Folks

I start with a disclaimer that I really know nothing about this topic, and my questions will show my ignorance.

So, I'm looking for a way to add background beats/samples without an arranger keyboard.

Does anyone use a drum/beat machine/sampler/controller with your keyboard? I am referring to hardware items such as:
- https://www.sweetwater.com/store/de...nd-performance-system-with-komplete-12-select

It seems to me that they would be very useful for beats, drum, and background samples, and with the preset buttons would be easy to use.

Anyone?

Thanks!

I use a workstation, VA and analog synths, a couple of drum machines and an Arturia Beatstep Pro in combination with arpeggiators and onboard sequencers to create an infinite number of beats and riffs.

The units you linked are best suited to dance and trance music and have steep learning curves.

What's your budget and what sort of music do you play?

Maybe start out with an Alesis SR-18 or 16 or a Boss DR-880 or a Zoom rt-323.

Much simpler to program and suitable for tangos, waltzes and classic rock n roll..

Also much less expensive.

Gary ;)
