Drum Machine

I'm looking for a simple drum machine that can play various preset drum beats (pop, blues, jazz, bossa) that can be accessed on stage by pushing a button. Most units I've seen are designed for studio recordings and require preprogramming. Samples included on others try to add far more than just a simple beat to keep time, etc. I don't need intro, rolls, fills, etc. Just a straight beat from start to stop. Can anyone suggest a unit along the lines I'm looking for?

They don't make them anymore but look around for a used Zoom Rhythmtrack.

That's your cheapest option.

Roland Boss DR880; Also discontinued.

Or Alesis SR-16 or SR-18. Still in production.

Excellent sounds and good price Alesis SR 16 and SR 18
Actually both are hard to program, but easy to use the presets.
SR 18 has more sounds and even a “bass line”, but SR 16 is completely OK to replace the drummer ( and save on beers)
