I have tried and tried to load a system upgrade with no luck. I am trying to locate an original system disk for this keyboard. Thank you. Gforce

Yes I have contacted Kawai. They tried their best, they even sent a disk that they put an upgrade on. It would not load. It is the same problem that I had. That is why I am trying to locate an original system disk

Perhaps the floppy or zip drive or whatever sort of media reader is built in is kaput?

It's not uncommon for floppy drives on older keyboards to fail after 15-20 years.

Is the disk readable on your computer?

Is there anyway to load the system via MIDI sysex?

I have to say that was the last thing I thought about, but you were right. I found another floppy drive and it works. Thanks for your help.

You're very welcome. Even back in the 90's Floppy Drives used to die pretty often. They really were cheaply made.

Typically they used to sell for about $12 apiece in the 90's.
